Duotone Filter

I am starting with this grayscale image:

But I think this would work quite similarly starting with a color image.

Select the image and apply one of the suggested duotone filters. What you will get is a two-tone version of the image:

In the Twentig settings for a cover image (below) there is another setting, “opacity of overlay”. That isn’t available for the ordinary image block (above). An opacity of zero gives you the same result as above.

More interesting is what you can do by changing the colors you start with. Want a blue sky? lighter green mountains? Click on the duotone button but go down to the pair of buttons just below the suggested filters. Click on the left one to bring up a color selection panel for the shadows. Move the circle toward the middle of the box just to get some color, then move the color button in the bar below over to the green range, then finally move the button in the window to where you want it. Click on right one, same process.
