Great Decisions is a national civic-education program that encourages participants to:
- Learn about U.S. foreign policy and global issues
- Discuss multiple viewpoints in a group setting
- Take part in a national opinion survey
The program, which includes a 20-minute survey film for each topic and a briefing book containing additional materials, is developed by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA), a non-profit education organization.
Each year, 5CLIR selects four or five of the FPA topics for presentation in the Pioneer Valley. These 2.5 hour sessions begin with a screening of the FPA film followed by a lecture by a local expert on the topic. The session concludes with Q&A.
Tickets may be purchased for the series or individual events. Reduced rates are available for 5CLIR members.
