Governance

LIR’s Bylaws specify that the rules governing our organization must be approved by the members of 5CLIR at an Annual Meeting. In addition, they require that Council will establish and maintain an Operations Manual that describes administrative policies and procedures of 5CLIR.

The Operations Manual includes basic information about the operation of our core program of peer-led seminars. In addition, the Curriculum Committee maintains both a Moderators Guide and a Participants Guide with more details.

The LIR Council, elected by voting members and accountable to them, is the governing body of LIR. Council has general authority to manage all educational, organizational, and budget matters of LIR.

Five Colleges, Inc. (FCI) is the fiscal agent for 5CLIR and, as such, manages all funds, has signatory authority for all contracts, and disburses cash.
